Soaking music
Western world people groups can find it difficult to escape fast-paced lifestyles. This could have many negative consequences for them personally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Usually the first thing that is neglected is prayer time, especially the kind that gives God our full attention and waits for revelation from Him. (Face to Face: The Divine Experiment by Rhonda Hughey & Wes Adams/Fusion Ministries) Typically, overeating and other mindless actions occur and yeild poor health and a lower quality of life over time. I suggest that is it time to slow down, appreciate life, get adequate rest and relaxation, learn what the presence of God is and capture creative moments. These are the things that soaking music encourages. We must recognize that our Creator can accomplish more in one second than what humans can do in decades. Christian soaking music can accelerate this process.
Soaking music involves finding a comfortable place to relax, playing music created by an anointed musician and allowing the busyness of your thoughts to slow down or stop. If worries and obligations persists in your mind, don't let that upset you...accept it and refocus by knowing God is still working in you. Then invite God to soak you in His presence, surrender your mind, body, & soul to Him, focus on His presence within you and receive from the Holy Spirit. As you rest in faith, believe He is working in you, be patient, and observe as God changes you and the world around you. Be sure to capture creative ideas as them come by writing them down or verbally recording them. ctfministries.com
This prayer and receiving time adds a new dimension to our relationship with our Creator, [renews strength and makes us more useful to others/somehow more gets done in less time when we learn to rest in His presence.] It's about listening and experiencing Him. Soaking prayer is based on a belief system that God is supernatural and wishes to relate to His children in supernatural ways. It is about being open to and receiving revelatory solutions and visions directly from Him, our Daddy.
It is usually not a time for correction, but a time of healing and intimacy. Because Jesus has made a way, we can enter God's presence and the more it is practiced, the easier it becomes. Believe it or not, God desires time to love and strengthen us. Human relationships also need this whenever we get together. Problems or issues should usually be shelved for later. One goal is to get over our addiction to speaking and allow God to speak to us, "Spirit to spirit."
There should be no striving or begging for Him to come (Hebrews 13:5). By faith believe that as you sit in His presence, He is there. Lying on your back or sitting in a comfortable chair are the best receiving positions. Body language can reflect our spirit's position and seems to make a difference. Eliminating all other distractions or activities also accelerates receiving. Let God fill you up on His valuable and unseen substance. Whether you "see or hear" something is not necessarily important, but by faith believe that you "soaked" up the substance of His Glory. Think of your body as being like the anointed handkerchief in Acts Chapter 19 that healed people. We soak-up His substance and it permeates our physical body and leaks out later to other people.
Worship can be used as a gateway into His presence. You may then use your imagination to picture the throne room, heaven and the unseen realm. Allow yourself to "go with" any vision or thought that is from the unseen realm of God's Kingdom. Hab. 2:1 "I will watch and 'see' what the Lord will 'say.'" Some of us unconsciously limit God from speaking to us because we are straining to hear words. Habakkuk understood that God was not limited to speaking with language. Sitting quietly is key for building a relationship with God. In the stillness of our soul, His presence speaks. While we are waiting for Him to speak to our mind, He is waiting for an opportunity to speak to our heart.
If needed, take your thoughts captive and actively receive the substance of His presence. You do not have to hear a teaching on peace to experiencing peace. It is in this place of rest that your spirit receives revelation rather than information. To grow into maturity, we must know God the Father more intimately. Our highest call is not to teach about God but to reveal Him. Unless we experience and soak up His presence, our relationship becomes cerebral rather than actual. We know about it, but we can't live in it.
