Food for life
If your motivation for getting yourself and your family to eat right is just to look good by society's standards, you'll find little scripture support. According to Genesis 1:27 NIV, God created us in his image with no qualifiers regarding physical appearance or body weight.
However, while vanity is no virtue, exercising regularly and adhering to a nutritionally sound diet require discipline and self-control - character traits strongly emphasized in God's Word. So when you see that your family needs to shape up, let the primary motivation be improving health, not enhancing appearance.
Most people fall short of the USDA's recommendation to eat at least 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. In addition to making these foods readily available, teach your family about the connection between diet and health and also remember, choosing foods wisely is only half the equation; practicing moderation is the other half. Too much of even the most nutritionally sound food is not a good thing.
Practice what you preach regarding fast foods. Set limits on how often you eat out. All the same time, don't be too hard on yourself, everyone deserves a quick meal every now and then. Happiness and contentment fuel beauty too. Most people lack discipline and once they can acknowledge the problem, they can break the fast-food habit.

Almost every man surveyed said he would do whatever it takes to help his partner improve her looks. Maybe he watches the kids in the evening or drives the soccer carpool so you can go work out. Maybe he stops bringing a particular food into the house. Maybe he cooks dinner so you don't have to prepare foods you're trying to avoid. Or maybe he agrees to try a meal plan along with you.
